Listen to at least the first 5 minutes of both of these YouTube videos (you can listen to more if you like). Listen carefully to the music. At the bottom of this page, leave a comment and tell me about two things that sound the same and two things that sound different. How are they different and why do you think that is?

ReplyDeletetwo things that sounded the same were there voices and the type of guitar. the background music and song sounded different. I they are different because the two different people have ideas on their songs and instruments.
Similarities :
ReplyDelete1) They both used improvisation on the guitar solos to change the beat.
2) Both videos had quite similar style of guitar solos that went from being fast to being slow very fast.
Differences :
1) The second video had a much faster beat than the first one. I think this may be because there was quite a lot of singing in the second one so it needed to be quite fast,funky and upbeat so he could sing along to it. However, the first video had hardly any singing in it as they wanted to focus on the guitar solos so it was slowed right down so they had more time to improvise and change the beat.
2) The second video also had a lot more instruments playing in the band such as the keyboard and the drum whereas in the first video they wanted you to focus on the guitar solos so only had guitars.
1) They both have the same kind of guitar, and they both sound like they have been improvised.
ReplyDelete2) In the first one you can hear some percussion where as you can't in the second. The first one also sounds more modern.
3) I think they are different because the first one is more modern, but the second was around the time of the blues.
1. The 2 things that they have in common are : in the back ground they have a electric guitar in the back ground. Also, the singers are slow
ReplyDelete2. The 2 things that they don't have in common are : in the second video the guy starts to singer bit quicker. The first video had 2 men making sounds and singing.
1.They have the same beat and style
ReplyDelete2.the first one was mainly messing around on the guitar and the second was playing the guitar and singing
Differences: the first one had more of a rock tunes and the second one sounded more jazzy. The second one has more lyrics. The first one is quite a happy tune but the second one is sad.

1) 2 things that were the same is they both used electric guitars to make a high pitched sound , and they both were quite slow

3) I think that three were different because the first one was joyous but the second one was more sad and malancholy
In the videos two similarities are:

2) they both stop singing so you can just listen to the beat
In the videos two differences are:
1) in the first video there is a different peson singing
2)they only have one guitar solo but in the second video they have two guitar soloists
The two things that sound the same are the guitars its just that the second video wth guitar was a bit faster than the first. The other thing that sounded the same was the vocals as they where booth smooth but deep they werent high pitched. The thing that sounded different was the second video was way more funkier than video one as video one sounded a bit like lazy and slow, the other thing was video one only had guitars yet video two had lots of different instuments ,the difference is that they are alot better with a bit more sound and things going on and i prefere number 2
ReplyDeleteThe two Blue musics sound the same because they have he guitar in both and they play the same tune. And what sounded different was one of the music was upbeat and fast then the other was slow and calm. And I think that they are the same by playing by the same tune they just have different pitches.

3) I think that they at different because of the rythm and tone.
Both of the vidios are similar because they use similar instruments like the gitar and drums.
ReplyDeleteThe vidios are diffrent because there was a lot more sining in the first one compared to the second one.
They are diffrent because in the second one the beat was a lot faster than the first one.
2 similarity's that the pieces of music have is that they both feature the guitar and they are both quite relaxing but not boring rhyme. 2 differences that the pieces of music have is that the first one is slower and the second was more upbeat and quicker - I did prefer the second mainly because of this reason. Plus the second one had words in the song, were as the first was just instruments.
