8HK Blues Prep 03

HK. Date: 21/09/16. Blues Lesson 03

Listen to your whole-class instrumental performance of the 12 Bar Blues and leave a comment on the blog post discussing the following THREE things:

  1. What instrument and part were you playing?
  2. What did you learn?
  3. What do you need to do next lesson to either perform your part better and/or to push yourself further?

    2. I learned how to fluently play the chords to the 12 bar blues I now feel confident and it sounded good too!!
    3. To push myself further, I can maybe try to learn the bass line to give the piece a bit more depth!

    I played the piano and I learnt to play with one hand on the piano.next lesson I need to focus on staying in the same rythm as everybody else because I am going to fast.

    I played the drums. In my opinion, the song was quite good. It had a steady beat and the use of a bass greatly helped the movement of the song. I learnt that to play the drums, all you have to do is to know how to keep a steady beat. Next time i will try to be more creative with my drumming and form a better beat

    next week I need to work on how fast to change my fingers ont the piano

    I was playing the piano and I learned how to do all of the chords but to push myself further I need to turn the sheet around and learn the chords on that side too.

    I was playing F and G on the piano, trying to insert the sevens whenever I could. I learnt just how simple the 12-bar blues can be and how well it it can sound when you play that simple progression correctly. I also learnt how effective different pitches can sound when put in the same piece.Next lesson, I need to practice transitioning quickly between chords and how to effectively swap between regular keys and sevens without losing the rhythm and having to wait for the next bar.

    In the song I was playing on the electrical drum kit. I enjoyed learning how to play it and learning the song. Personally I think the drummers were not really needed in this song as it spoilt the noise of the piano and bass guitar.AS a group we needed to be more focused as we started talking towards the end of it. During next lesson I need to play a clearer and more thorough beat that is exactly the same as the other drummers.

    In our class performance I played the guitar. I also learnt how to play the chords, C, F and G. Next lesson I will try the more complex learning sheet to help me achieve more and will focus more on how quickly I can change between chords.

    1. I was playing the piano.
    2.I learnt how to play the cords on the piano(with the help of Honor)
    3.I think that next lesson I need to improve on the transitioning of the keys.
    I think what I did well was that I learnt resonably quickly and I worked well with honor,I also think I concentrated well.

    I was playing the piano. In this lesson I learnt, how to play the 12 bar blues on the keyboard. Next lesson I need to be faster with the letter change over and I need to stay in sync with the music and Lēonie. I need to do this because I kept falling out and then not being able to catch up with everyone, which ment I couldn't play. I need to push my self to play without writing on the keys and to be able to know where each letter is

    The instrument that I played was the keyboard. I learnt how to play some of the notes of the keyboard. To make it better next time I think I need to work on keeping in time with the other people who are on the keyboards.

    I played the ukalali. I learnt the g,f and c chords on it. I found it hard to change fingers to the different chords so i need to work on that...

    I played guitar

    I learnt how to do the F chord which was the only chord I hadn't learnt

    I will push myself further by improvising.
