I didn't know how the blues music started. I find it very interesting that it started when African American slaves expressed their pain through music, which started the blues. This makes this particular genre more than just music, but a reminder of the terrible things that happened to the slaves at the time. For me, it makes me think a lot about the lyrics when I listen to a blues song because of the history of this genre. Neusha Karshenas HO
In this video, I learnt that there was such a big meaning behind the blues and how it started. I didn't know just one genre could have such an impact on music and out society. For example, blues music impacted the civil rights movement in America.Jamie Leonor(i think) was a big part of this, the civil right movement by the blues, as he portrayed how he felt during slavery through the blues,a peace musician.
I also learnt that the blues influences lots of the genres of music today such as, metal, indie and rich n roll.
I learnt that when Rock and Roll came to America from Europe, there was there was a re-emergence of the original Blues. During this period, several of the original artists were rediscovered. During the American Civil Rights Movement, black Blues artists would compose and perform songs to help promote equal rights and make racism obsolete.
One thing i learnt from watching the 'history of blues' video was that it was inspired by slave music and how it was a way out from everything else. I also learnt that a lot of the songs had to do with how black people were treated and protesting against it.
One thing I learnt about the blues history is how it made such a huge impact on our music today. For example during the 20th and 21st century this style of music really began to grow. We would not have had all these different genres of music if not for the blues.Rock n roll, R&B and loads other styles would not have happened without blues music.
I learnt that the blues is linked to slavery and that is how it started.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I learnt about the blues was it came from slave music and made many more music genres
