1. I have learnt that playing too fast is not beneficial for the song, as it is harder to fit in the drums and the vocals.
ReplyDelete2.I feel I am developing faster than usual because I am practicing far more frequently and I'm learning faster and more complex songs every week.
3. I think the song successfully achieves it's purpose. I wish it had a solo, instrumental, and perhaps a more creative verse riff. If i had more time, I would have done everything I just listed.
1. From this project I have learnt how to construct a song and also the importance of working in a team .
ReplyDelete2.As a musician I feel I am developing at a slow rate , to get further I should start learning the piano and also continually practising my beaboxing and singing to get a wider range of sounds to put into my music .
3. Our song wasn't very successful we struggled a lot throughout this project but there were some good parts such as the instruments , they played well and in time with each other . But the singing did not match up and the team working skills were low . If I had more time I would speed up the song , work on our team working skills and attempt to be more confident in my abilities .
1. From this songwriting project i have learnt how to compose & compile chords together at a steady beat to form the basis of our song.
ReplyDelete2. I think i am developing slowly but steadily as a musician because it takes time to get the hang of something and in this case that is song writing.
3. I think our song is pretty successful because you can distinguish the verses from the chorus and the bridge, also the melody worked quite well with the chords that we had in place. With our song i was happy about the fact that it flowed smoothly in rhythm and the transitions were clear. Also the lyrics worked very well with the tone of the rest of our piece. If we had more time, i would add another verse and maybe add another beat for perhaps the chorus or the bridge.

1. in this song writing project I learned When you are writing a song it doesn't all come at the same time. in fact there are up to four stages. lyrics, melody, rhythm, chord pattern. there are may components which eventually are supposed to fit together.
ReplyDelete2.As a musician i was able to see my strengths and weaknesses, vulnerabilities in making music. this helped me put my style in the music which made it easier.
3.I personally think our song is a pretty good song, not top of the charts but it was actually a proper song.
What i loved about the song was the fact could put my twist on it and us my vocals. specifically in the chorus when i change the octave.
if i had more time i would record the instruments and layer them to add more instruments making it sound cooler.
1. From this songwriting project I learned that it is quite complex to write a song and make everything match so it sounds good but despite this it is achievable if you all work together.
ReplyDelete2. As a musician I feel I am developing my skills in learning new instruments and especially writing a song which flows well.
3. I think our song was quite successful in the end when we came to the conclusion to the way in which we were going to sing it (rap and siñg). I am happy about the song itself and the chords we chose because they matched well and allowed the song to flow. If we had more time I would've liked to add another instrument to the song because it would add a bit more layer/ texture to it than just the keyboard.

~Describe what you learnt from this songwriting project~
ReplyDeleteI learnt that your first idea is not always your final or best, our group changed our song a good couple of times until we made a choice.
~How do you feel you are developing as a musician?~
I feel that I can play the piano a bit more comfortably and with confidence.
Evaluate your song by answering the following:
~How successful do you think your song is?~
I think our song was okay, there is defiantly areas to improve on and some which can stay. overall I believe our song was semi successful.
~What are you happy about with your song? Be specific~
The thing on which I am happy with is the tune, and the way how the piano was not your traditional four beat cord, each note was played separately.
~If you had more time, what would you add or change?~
If I had more time I would add a few chords in as well as the single note, as well as that I would sing a little deeper as we were singing a bit too high.
1.) What I learnt from this project is to make a good set of cords/lyrics you need to have everyone's input in your group and have it all fit together. That way it will fit better than if we were doing different things and not talking to each other.
ReplyDelete2.) As a musician I think I am developing nicely however I think I need to improve myself with trying new strumming patterns and harder cords on the guitar to improve my skills, that might make the process of it harder but the different cords might fit better depending on the lyrics and the genre of song.
3.) I think our song was successful however I don't think all the lyrics fitted and the rush at the end to get them sorted because of the change of plans with the cords might have been why.!I am happy with the piano piece that Charlotte (our pianists) came up with and it fit with the style very well. The slow moving and the cords chosen, were very fitting. If we had more time I would change our lyrics and the pace we were singing them also I would change the guitar cords to differ from the piano, and the tone we were singing the lyrics in.
1. I have learnt that song lyrics don't have to rhyme to sound good in a song
ReplyDelete2. I feel I now know a lot of the skills needed to become a musician
3. I think our song is quite successful because it is catchy and has a good beat
I am happy with the words and how the rhythm flows throughout the whole song
If we had more time I would add some different chords to some of the verses to make it more interesting

1.i have learned how to play a steady drumbeat that flowed throughout the song
ReplyDelete2.i feel like I have developed as a musician because now I have a bit of an
understanding of how to play a new instrument
3.i believe our song has a successful beat but lacks lyrics
In our song I am happy how mid way through we change our beat to mix it up
To improve next time we would add lyrics because this time we did not have enough time and couldn't think of any lyrics
I have learnt from this songwriting project that it isn't that difficult to create some cords that fit with some lyrics. I think that our song is successful because we have a good melody and a nice steady beat/rhythm. I think I have developed a little bit as a musician but not a lot. If we had more time I think we would work on some more lyrics and mix up the cord order up a bit so it isn't the same all the way through the song.
